Write to Resist is a new series from the Journal of Resistance Studies. It features articles on how activists, organizers and dissidents use nonviolent means to resist every form of social injustice.
By activists we mean political, movement, gender equality and human rights activists, and other dissidents working to challenge and undermine every form of oppression.
We welcome articles from activists, scholars and writers on resistance for social change, including the strategies and tactics activists use to resist injustice and navigate the challenges of societal oppression. They serve as lessons for dissidents everywhere on how to resist oppression.
The series aims to deepen activists’ and organizers’ understanding of how to transform conflict using nonviolent resistance as an alternative to violent or armed struggle, promoting global justice and freedom for sustainable peace and development. This is why we consider writing about resistance a form of resistance.
